“I can see why they call you the Peacock, Imoogi.”

You have, after all, a reputation to maintain; it wouldn’t do to disappoint historicensors after they went through all the trouble of giving you such a nice title.

“They tell many stories about you,” he says, giving you a meaningful look, “Admiral.”

“I suggest you believe only the ones that end in murder,” you grin, running a claw over the edge of your cup.

squigglehaunt linked me this with ‘I found a pic of our fish squad’ and I am just laying claim to that title forever now.

(hopefully I’ll have time for photo-editing this weekend)

Final pre-Dragon*Con photos! Because the only things left to do are throw together a mounting base for Garfit’s horns, do laundry, and finish my packing.

My housemate suggested glueing a reinforcement piece on either side of the center of my space halo, after I broke off ANOTHER spine bumping it on the door. The final side of glue is drying, but I think it looks pretty good with the shape, and it let me hide the clip I’m using to hold it on.

And then some more Garfit bling before I pack it up - sash with all it’s decorations.

Garfit - Horns, Earfins, Decorations

Tonight can be summed up as ‘what do you mean fingers aren’t blending tools’. The earfins are latex, and came flesh-toned, so they have now been troll’d out with PAX. I’m not 100% happy with the shape of the horns or the finish on the gold decorations, but sometimes being done is better than being right when it comes to cosplay.

Cosplay WIP - Garfit

With cameo appearance by the disaster in my room. I did get some other stuff done today, but no pictures - tomorrow maybe. Today was finishing up the last of the major sewing work - most of which was on Garfit. As I told Fi yesterday, this capelet is business on the outside, party on the inside.

Now to just bling everything out, basically.

Cosplay WIP - Snorlax and Garfit

Snorlax is DONE. 100%, I am excited and happy about this.

And progress on Garfit so far, which is not blinged out yet. The awesome design is by zeekappa, and Garfit Imoogi is the fevered dreamings of the esteemed temporaldecay

Cosplay WIP - Garfit (with bonus fabric porn)

I got this komon bolt from Ichiroya for like $50, and there had been a note about about the pattern being divided into different parts, but I didn’t realize until I’d unrolled the whole thing that the pattern had been laid out in distinct pieces, so that the wave pattern would be right-side-up on both the front and the back, with a really smooth transition at the shoulder. So once I noticed that I couldn’t bear to cut it into smaller pieces, so the sleeveless robe for Garfit is the two body pieces with the excess folded up to double as a self-lining. That way I still have the option of making it into an actual kimono in the future.

It’s going to have a dark purple collar, but I’m still waiting on my order from Dharma to ship.

Cosplay WIP - Ear Fins Step 1

I spent the weekend hanging out with pinnedtogether in person (a rare occurrence, we live a full timezone apart), and we worked on costumes and watched anime and all that good shit. She helped me finally make casts of my ears, because after one solo try I realized I needed a second pair of hands. I’m going to clean up the plaster casts and then cast the clean versions in plastic, which I can then mold earfins for Garfit and some custom eartips for a friend on. I thought it was cool how much detail the alginate and plaster pick up - you can see the indents where my piercing holes are, and the complete outline of the pieces of cellophane tape I used to cover up the larger holes in my left ear (I have an industrial piercing and I didn’t want alginate running through my ear). The missing chunk of right ear is just a bubble in the plaster, though - my earlobe is very average.

(pictures from pinnedtogether, who at least was kind enough to not take of me flopped on her kitchen floor waiting for the alginate to set)
