Return of the Katsucrunch

Yes, I'm going to Katsucon. Yes, I am aware of the risks, and I'm okay with it, with the mitigating steps I plan on taking.

Pandemic times of course have not made me any better at time management, so free time is a combo of working frantically on Hua Cheng, catching up on Twitter and Discord, and playing some low-stress Switch games (Grindstone and Pikuniku) in lieu of like... writing actual posts, lol. I've decided to table E'ming, which puts me in much better shape, in terms of getting shit done, but I've also decided to learn a bunch of new skills and also these stupid bracers are taking like four times as long as I thought they were going to. They're gonna look great when they're done! But stuff that isn't that or work has kind of not been happening.

Thanks! Honestly my plans are mostly to spend time with a very small number of friends taking photos in our hotel room or outside - the single panel I'm running will probably be the only one I go to.

From what I'd been hearing, in Maryland at least where Omicron was surging, cases are falling fast because basically everyone who could get it, did get it. So possibly that area is a bit safer than it was - and I mean, if you have to be vaxxed and masked to enter, it's safer than going to the grocery store at this point. :P

Yeah lol, I went grocery shopping before our big snow storm last week, and easily half the people weren't masked. I'm also driving down, which means no airport/plane crowds.

Awwww yeah. That is definitely the way to go. Uh, as long as no more surprise blizzards hit. (We still have a foot of snow on the ground out here. At least I got to try out that snowblower. A lot.)

Also it sounds like a lot of anti-mask/vaxx folks are now angry and boycotting, to which I say GOOD. They're probably the same ones who go to the con sick and spread regular con plague. I don't expect they'll be missed.

Ahahaha yeah, I've been lucky so far in the years I've driven down, but I'm gonna pack some emergency supplies (including my little sturdy AAA shovel) just in case. One local friend is driving down with me, too, so if we hit trouble I won't be stranded alone.

They will absolutely not be. The only time I have had what I'm 90% sure is the actual flu instead of just my usual low-grade winter sinus infections was right after Katsucon 2014.
