Hua Cheng cosplay research questions
(and also just noting these down for my own memory for later searching)
- Small white ground-flowers native to China (aka 'possibilities for what flower it was that got him the name Crimson Rain Sought Flower')
- I've found attestations of both open dome-shaped bells and closed 'jingle' style bells in ancient China, but I don't yet know which style would be more common among the Hmong/Miao (which is where a lot of the style for his jewelry is coming from)
I'm going Tang Dynasty as a basis but not sticking to it too obsessively (because this is fantasy xianxia land), and trying to work in Hmong touches where I am be reasonably assured I am not being disrespectful/a clueless white person (for people who haven't read TGCF, Hua Cheng is half Hmong, half Han)

Buckwheat flowers? I know there’s some other small white ground-flowers but that’s the one that I remember because there’s a poem by Bai Juyi.
