Sometimes I look at my music library and am forced to confront the fact that at least half of it comes from the LJ FST comm circa 2005 (the other half is 'video game soundtracks I got from friends in college' and 'lots of industrial/EBM/new wave I torrented')

Which is I guess mostly okay except I don't want to become one of those adults who hates new music because I don't listen to it, so feel free to drop me some recs. I tend to prefer stuff with a strong melody line, but while my main library is a lot of industrial/new wave/90s-00s alt rock, I do have a little bit of everything.

I find myself mostly with 70s/80s rock most of the time. I wasn't even born in the 70s. I'm not sure what that says about me.

I have a decent amount of 60s rock kicking around, which I blame my dad for (but in a good way, I like it).

Oh, I don't mind the 70s rock. I like it. I also go through phases where the only thing I listen to is Queen (which spans three decades, but we can make a case for them also being 70s), which is fine. But I feel my knowledge of music stops somewhere for sure.
