December 07 → talk about music this year

No real new musical discoveries this year, though I did pony up for a paid Spotify account and have been using it intermittently, mostly at work, and just kind of seeing where it takes me when I seed things with a few choice songs I like (answer: a lot of industrial and goth rock).

The only concert I went to this year was VNV Nation, a few weeks ago. Fourth time seeing them live, and it was just as awesome as the first three times.

Having a paid Spotify account is probably one of the best things I've ever paid for. I feel like there is a lot of music that I want to try, that I wouldn't necessarily buy, but I like having access to. Like, I've been listening to the Fast Five OST while I've been writing my stupid Fast and Furious crossover, which I would never actually pay real money for, but is good to set the mood when I am writing a car chase.

There are a couple of bands that I've discovered on Spotify whose albums I've actually bought, which is really nice.

Anyways...hope you discover more bands!
