December Days: Recipes!

So I have a confession, which is that I'm really more of an aspirational cook. I want to enjoy cooking for it's own sake. The reality, though, is that what I actually enjoy is eating, and cooking is mostly a bunch of necessary time and energy invested to get to the stage of eating. And with fulltime work and a long commute, cooking beyond boxed mac and cheese has not really been happening. Still! I do have a bunch of favorite recipes I return to over and over, many of them copied off into a small notebook that I keep for such purposes, so I'll share a few favorites here.
